Is there anything anyone would really like? Are the prices reasonable enough?

The reason why I'm not selling any food yet is because some are giving away it for free outside not far from the gates. Since most of us are still rather poor, spending the money for resources to build farms, homes and tools would be more worthwhile than spending it for food. Once more trading signs are set up (buy and sell) I'm sure it'll be easier for players to quickly sell off unwanted items and buy a load of cheap food after the economy kicks off.

I know I only joined the network yesterday, but I've spent 6+ hours on the server today while it was empty and I've settled in a house in the Wild West near a very sprawling flower biome. I was thinking of setting up a flower shop in the market in case people wanted some of the rarer flowers to decorate with. I need to get the funds for it first, but I was wondering if there was enough interest in this for me to go through with it? I would make the flowers rather cheap, of course.

I'm not much of a battler, so earning money is hard for me and I wouldn't want to waste money on a shop that nobody buys from. So can people tell me if they're interested? Thanks! :SBthumbsup

I think it's about time I add some new features to boost the currency....the EXP and cobblestone server sell signs is good but still not quite enough. But I would like something that'll also encourage more players to come back and play more, as well as take part on the forums. Two things has come to mind:

  • A points/currency system for the AGN forums with rewards exchangeable with the game servers.
  • A small reward for merely playing/being online or active.

The first one is the best of the two but hardest to implement. The currency/points modification requires phpBB 3.1 which would require the others to be updated and reinstalled - some of which aren't ready yet. This leaves me to try writing a simple one myself....a full phpBB integration is easier said than done though.

I guess for now I'll see what I can do for the second option. Afterwards I can send an e-mail to all our MC players which hopefully bring them back sooner.

I have an idea or two about the economy, if you're willing to listen to a newbie ramble.

For starters, I think that you should be able to sell gunpowder. The use of TNT is discouraged in terms of griefing and I'm not one to use it for mining. I think if you could sell gunpowder for a reasonable price, (considering that they are dropped by creepers) that it would be another way for people to gain some money. It might also help curb griefing in the future if the gains of selling large amounts of gunpowder are bigger than bombing someone's house.

Also, at least for now, I think that it would help if the /home and /spawn commands were a bit cheaper to use. I know that the pricing is a good idea to stop people from abusing it, but right now with the economy like it is, I think it's more detrimental. This is coming from someone who got lost twice in the span of half an hour and lost almost all their money using the commands. I think the commands would allow people to explore more and gather materials to sell, without the fear of getting lost.

Those are just my two cents, if there are unseen reasons as to why it is this way, then you can dismiss the ideas. :SB:)

Gunpowder can't be sold to server yet due to a bug. It is in fact already listed but doesn't work. TNT can't be used outside owned plots and the rest of the town is blast proof.

I don't use the /home or /spawn commands much but looking at the logs most members use it quite a bit....so perhaps it could be reduced somewhat.

I have successfully rented one of the marketplace stores! However, I don't have any idea how to set up the signs for selling items. How do you go about doing that?
Also, is it possible to have the floor replaced with glowstone?

so stores can you build them in the bigger plots or do you want them to just stay in the 6x6 plots?

You can put up trading signs in your home plot but most members will first check the market and many only the market. Your best chances are when you make a new house and when there're few buildings to explore.

Later on the "Coming soon" plots will be turned into house plots or market plots depending on demand and supply.

The prices seem reasonable at your shops so far. :)

I'm planning on opening a shop soon and was thinking of selling bricks. (as one of the items)

Does that sound interesting to anyone? If not, I won't sell them.

I would look around outside the town fence. There's a swamp biome right next to town, so there might be quite a bit of clay there. I know for a fact that there's a lot of clay over in the Wild West. It might not be the best idea but idk. Look around and search for clay deposits and determine if it's worth it.

I've bought my first house plot. Now I'm going to gather some materials and decide the style, I think I'll go for more functional and spacey structures.

If you want to sell different kind of bricks let me know or give some ideas....
